Leftovers

Sweet N has a hard time eating very quickly these days. Unless she is highly motivated by the possibility of an afternoon playdate or some such thing.

So sometimes we have to set the timer for her and if she doesn’t finish by then then the meal is over and the rest is saved for the next meal. Now don’t fuss at me… we’re not rushing her or anything. Some days she’s sitting at the table for 60 minutes trying to eat a small meal. Aaaack!!

So the other day I found this on the island after lunchtime…

She had packed up her own leftovers after her meal! I laughed… she knows the drill, eh? She didn’t finish her cheese or hummus, so into a bag it went for dinner!

Smart girlie.

Now if she would just figure out that it’s just as easy to eat the food already! Ha!

Welcome to my Laundry Life

This is my life on laundry days…

Some things sorted and folded while others are grabbed and thrown and jumped on and munched on.

Love them. I have a beautiful, beautiful life. Challenging at times, for sure. But beautiful.

Look Closely

IMG_5637

If you look closely here, do you see what I see?!

So we went to Chuck E. Cheese with our families over the holidays to celebrate Sweet N’s Birthday.

And the two boy cousins (along with one stranger) were riding the little simulator ride (on the left) what is my husband doing (on the right)?! He’s wacking the moles or whatever on the toddler sized machine all by himself.

Seriously.

It’s a kids game!

He cracks me up…

Talent

IMG_2264

If you ask me, I’d say that it takes talent to eat so far into the middle of the sandwich with such a small percentage of the edge eaten?!

What is it about kids and shoving the center of sandwiches so far in their mouths just to get to the middle? My kids do it at home too, resulting in a wide stripe of peanut butter and jelly out both corners of their mouths.

My kids aren’t the only ones that do this.

Right?!

Dear Feed Subscribers

Hey Subscribers out there! Thanks for subscribing! Just wanted to let you know that I’m trying to do some catch up on this here blog, which means I am post-dating (or is it pre-dating?!?) some posts that I missed along the way. Like the one of my baby girlie sitting up… it may have showed up as a new one in your feed, but it was actually in September and that’s where it is on the blog now.

Anyway, just to explain! And please excuse the possible onslaught… the holidays were busy and I’m so behind. Trying to get caught up!

:)

Overheard

Valentine’s day is coming and I had gotten out the few decorations we have to make the house look all lovey dovey. I gave the kids some solid red valentine-themed window clings to decorate their sliding glass door with and then I overheard this:

“It’s cupid!” H exclaimed when he peeled one off the page.

“Cupid!” N repeated, even though I’m pretty sure she didn’t now what that meant.

”Cupid must be the new guy” H said.

“It’s a gwirl”, N was sure.

“Well, I think he’s a boy” H replied.

N thoughtfully responded “Yeah, you never know, cause he’s all just red.”

It was just so cute. Some nights they just lay in bed and talk and talk and it’s the cutest thing. I pray it’s bonding them together as brother and sister that love each other forever and ever amen.
