Portraits and a Quote

Today was day two of my big kids being really into painting. They do really well by themselves once I get them set up. Today they wanted to be set up JUST SO, looking out the window.

They wanted to paint a portrait of the baby, so I set her on the balcony for awhile.

IMG_3401

H could get a good view of her from the seat at his artists’ table. That’s exactly how he wanted it.

IMG_3398

She was a willing subject.

IMG_3397

And this was his final painting! Not bad, eh? He got the chair and the face and the three flowers on her shirt, etc.

Proud boy. Proud Mama.

IMG_3404

Girlie did one too. I would call hers a more abstract interpretation?

Also, while they were sitting next to each and having a ball painting and doing this and that, I overheard them discussing the drying time of their paintings..

“Wow! That dried as quick as a fig!” H said.

“Yeah… as quick as a fig!!” N agreed.

Um, whaaaaat? I have no idea. But I like them so much.

Blue Eyed Beauty

Here is my blue eyed beauty. Apparently Google Chrome wasn't feeling grumpy and would allow me to post a photo, is it something they have against Firefox? I wouldn't be surprisd...

I don't get it.

But I love this precious baby in her kickin' chair at her Grammi and Poppi's house, so let's focus on that positive point. :)

On The Road

It’s been a busy month to say the least. So so good, but busy. We are currently visiting with dear friends at our last stop in Texas. Not exactly on the way home from Ohio… but lots of people to see on the way that totally makes it worth it. On top of that, Blogger has been acting crazy due to a confusing Yahoo and Google conspiracy, in my opinion. Ack!! You have no idea what I've been through just to try to get this posted, and it wouldn't even let me post a picture of my blue eyed baby!

Soooo I dream of having a routine again, which provides time occasionally to do things like, I don’t know… post a proper blog post? Maybe with a picture?!

Goodbye Tours–Greek Club

Mikey occasionally would play soccer at The Greek Club with a group of friends. The kids and I would often go along just for something to do. It was kinda of green and there was space to run!

I clearly remember this day…

Feb 10 036

…when H was just a babe and we took a picnic and sat under a tree and I watched my boy eat a banana by himself for the first time and thought to myself how grown-up it made him look to be eating a banana all by himself.

And here he is again, four years later, growing up for sure!

IMG_9365

It was especially wonderful to go during the winter when sweatshirts were necessary. I’d often chat with a friend and the kids would often play in the dirt.

IMG_9358

Or find trash…

IMG_9360

…fill it with dirty things…

IMG_9361

…and be really happy and cute about it.

IMG_9366

When the grown-ups were done playing, Mike would take our kids out there to kick the ball around a little.

IMG_0326

We went one last time.

To say goodbye Greek Club.
